Donors to the Kyle Alden Lowrey Memorial Endowed Scholarship at Pensacola State College
While in high school, Kyle was a dual enrollment student at Pensacola State College (then called Pensacola Junior College) and graduated Cum Laude with an AA degree in Pre-Engineering in 2010. Although he went on to the University of Arkansas, he reflected that his days at PJC were some of his happiest as a student. It was Kyle’s plan to one day give back to the school that made him feel so alive and welcome. Therefore, in his honor, his family has started an endowed scholarship in his name that will continue in perpetuity.
Candidates for the scholarship must be full-time students seeking an Associate’s degree, have at least a 3.0 GPA, demonstrate financial need, and write an essay answering the following questions: "What historical figure, living or dead, do you draw inspiration from and why? How do you plan to pass along this inspiration to the world around you?" The person they write about can be an artist, musician, writer, poet, scientist, or politician. The only requirement is they should be someone generally known throughout the nation and/or world. Kyle’s family would like to thank all of the kind donors listed below for helping to make this scholarship a reality. Their contributions have helped to make it possible for the first scholarship to be awarded in the spring term of 2018. PSC officials make all decisions on the award, but they have said they will pass along to the family the winners’ names, which we will publish as the information becomes available. With the recipient’s permission, we hope to tell you a little bit about them and to publish their essays, as well.
